The main indications for examination by a child neurologist are:
- neurodevelopmental assessment in the case of suspected disorder/delay from infancy to adolescence
- examination of children with neuro-risk factors (preterm birth, low birth weight, low Apgar score, vacuum extractor delivery, medical complications before or during birth)
- Infants with difficulty in sucking and swallowing, with tremor, prolonged crying, “sturdy” or “flabby” infants
- convulsive and non-convulsive seizures in children (including febrile convulsions and epilepsy)
- headaches
- syncope (loss of consciousness), collapse, dizziness
- early communication disorders (autism)
- impaired speech development
