On the basis of EU funding, we are equipped with the most modern ultrasound machine for contrast enhanced studies which we were the first to implement in Croatia in 2006. We were the first to introduce diagnosis of vesicoureteral reflux by contrast-enhanced voiding urosonography (ceVUS), which has been used in the algorithm of the Croatian Pediatric Nephology Society since 2017 and is today the primary method for diagnosing and monitoring VUR. We also introduced ceUS, contrast ultrasound for liver diseases, kidneys and other organs. Our institution was the first to promote the “Image gently” approach, i.e. no use of radiation in childhood. For many years we have been organizing international courses in pediatric ultrasound and contrast ultrasound.
